Planning My Own Death

Question:
I've lived with herpes for seven months now and am scared to death. I've not been to a doctor--but I know I have it. Having an outbreak as I type this.

I have exactly two spots on my backside. The rest seem to be spread underneath my breasts, arms and now popping out on my face. I have no medical insurance and I don't want my parents to know.

Two days ago, I realized I was developing a sty by my eye. My head hurts and my face feels numb. All the stuff I read makes herpes sound like a nuisance, but I think it's threatening my life.

I've already decided that if I wake up blind or death or paralyzed one morning, I'm going to kill myself. I'd rather die than have my mom and my friends know that a tw-night stand with a guy I didn't even like ruined my life.

Part of me is praying for herpes-related menigitis or encephalitis so that I won't have to kill myself. If my brain explodes, the blood won't be on my hands.

I'm going out tomorrow to load up on lisine and other natural cures mentioned in these forums. I've been washing my hands like a crazy person. But if things continue going downhill, I've decided to end it all. Coldsores are one thing. Herpes in my eyes or inflaming my head is another.

Answer:
How old are you??? you say that you don't have medical insurance and you don't want your parents to know.....if you are under 18....try a counselor with planned parenthood or a trusted counselor at school.....you must have a medical check-up....don't go out and randomly start taking anything!!! You could be starting some very self-destructive behavior....and all for nothing!!! Life is a gift...herpes or not.....get the information that you need....you'll be surprised at all the supportive and caring people that you will find......please be careful and let us know how you doing......goodgirl

I'm in my 20s--I just have a really crappy job. I'm an independant contractor, so I get no health insurance.

Can Planned Parenthood really help? I have no idea what to do, it seems like I have a really wicked strain and I'm scared that I'll have a stroke or a seizure or something. I'm also embarassed and ashamed.

It seems like when I get used to the sores I see, more develop. I'm on top of it now--I no longer ever touch my face unless I have to. I barely touch myself at all. I am also afraid to infect my cat.

Are there places where you can get herpes meds without prescription? I'll save up if I have to, but I'm paranoid about this being on my medical records. I really don't want anyone to know.

But I'm also afraid to die. I don't know if I'm paranoid or what, but since I noticed the blisters on my face, my head had hurt and my face has been numb. I feel so vain--I'd rather die than walk around with scars. They're evidence of my stupidity. I can barely function, I've been so upset and alone.

I'm in the New York area. Anyone know where I can go for inexpensive help? Everyone wants money that I just don't have.

Answer:
Many of the drug companies that produce the antivirals have programs where they will provide medication free or at a greatly discounted price....do a search with Valtrex or Famivir....I just redeemed a coupon I printed off of Famivir's web for a free starter coarse of Famivir 250 mg. (Some months ago I researched drug company sponsored programs and found that as long as you can verify your income...many of the companies are willing to help.) I recieved 28 pills at my local pharmacy for free....the catch is you must have a doctors's prescription. You may beable to apply for state sponsored insurance programs, you must check what is available to you....your local health dept. is another place to call for information...be persistant...help is out there, you just have to work at it alittle. You must let yourself get beyond the feeling of shame and let your survior instinct kick in....keep yourself safe....use one washcloth for your face and no where else and use it only once....same for any other area you have concerns about. Spend time gathering information....check out herpes.com and others to gather information on how not to spread the virus, and how to take care of an outbreak.....find a clinic and get an exam....you can obtain medication from Canada, on certain sites, without a doctor prescription....they use theirs...but this is usually expensive and can dangerous if you don't know what your doing ie. medication dosing etc......FEAR IS ONLY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE... be safe let us know how you doing.....goodgirl

Answer:
Hi. I seriously suggest you go to a doctor. Don't get yourself so upset over something that you don't even know what it is. Every state has health departments that generally test for free. If you have a low income you should be able to be treated at a free clinic. I've self diagnosed many times and have usually been wrong.
Take care.

Answer:
OK - straight up - get your ass to a doctor and get support via some network for HSV - you need to talk to people -

Are you sure all of these rashes are HSV? what if you have something else that cortizone or something can cure?

Get to the Doc - they see it all the time - planned parenthood, clinic whatever - drive your ass to Boston and I'll take you myself - but stop these destructive thoughts!

I am # 3 of three women here who plan on supporting you - don't let us down.

We will be here waiting for you.
