Question:
My girlfriend and I were both diagnosed with herpes within days of each other. She has oral and I have genital. We are an established couple so we are dealing with this. But the bummer is, when we first started dating 14 months ago, we had STD tests that were negative. Sadly, they didn't test for herpes and neither one of us knows who gave it to who. We're both traumatized and would love to find a scapegoat to blame this on, but it's impossible to know where it came from. Life goes on I suppose, and things could have certainly been worse (HIV).

I was also just recently diagnosed with Genital Herpes. My boyfriend gave it to me. I'm not angry at him though, because he didn't know he had it. My mom now hates him more than ever. And when I told him about it, he told me that he loved me and that we'd get through this. However, he hasn't called me in the past week. I'm wondering if maybe it has to do with he and I having Herpes. I know for certain that I didn't give it to him. He slept with a girl in early May who has Herpes. (this was before he and I were together.) I guess I don't have a lot of advice. But I just thought that maybe talking to someone else who has Herpes would help me. If you'd like to talk to me about this that'd be cool.
