Hi I am new...
Question: I am 44 year old female. Two children ages 22 and 24 with a beautiful 3 year old grandson. I found out yesterday that I am positive for both one and two. I work for an internal medicine Doctor. The reason I got tested was to prove him wrong. He had dxD our front desk girl with herpes a few weeks ago and told her that if you have had 4 or more partners you HAVE herpes it is now that common. I didnt believe him so he drew my blood and I was shocked, yet not shocked. I have been trying to trace back when I coul d have gotten this. I am 44 and have had only 5 partners. That isnt bad these days, really. Well...two of my partners cheated on me. But the one I feel is the one that passed it had a cold sore on his lip one day. We had intercourse and of course did other things . I read that someone with a cold sore can pass it on to type two if there is oral sex. I had called my GYNO at the time because I found herpes meds stashed away in his drawer. He, Gyno, told me that as long as my boyfriend was treating himself I was not at risk. TOTAL misinfomation. I am so mad. Although by that point it was too late, I am sure. My current boyfriend, number 5, is going to get tested. we have been together 2 years now. He believes if he has it I gave it to him. Maybe true, but then again he has had MANY more partners then I. SO that would be difficult to prove and like my doc says he , my boyfriend, probably already had it. I am angry that some people could care less if the innocents get this and other stds for selfish reasons. I sure did not live my life in such a way that I put myself in big chances of getting this or anything else. BUt as they say you sleep with more people then just your partner when you go with unprotected sex. But when you are engaged to a person for 4 years the last thing you feel you need to do is use protection. He is suppose to be loyal. Hopefully I can learn and gain some friends here . I told my best friend last night and felt a little sick about it. But she has genital warts so she has no room to judge. thanks, shocked. Answer: Hi! Welcome to the forum! I'm really glad that you were able to talk to your bf and your best friend about this. I have some question's about the girl who was fired from the office though. How did the doctor know she had herpes? Was she fired b/c she had it? I can't imagne telling nayone that I work for that I have it!! Answer: I don't think she meant that the girl at the front desk was fired for having herpes, I think "dxD" meant diagnosed. Is that right Shocked? What I am curious to know is if he diagnosed her by actual testing, or just by the number of her sexual partners. :?: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
