Genital Herpes for 17 years - now Oral Herpes?
Question: Help! 17 years ago I contracted genital herpes from my now ex husband. Two days ago I had my first ever cold sore inside my lower lip. Can somebody please answer these questions? 1. How may this have happened? I have had no oral sex and have not had a genital herpes episode for around three months. 2. Does this mean I can never kiss again?? I know I can transmit either type at the time of an outbreak or if shedding is happening. 3. I am in the early stages of a relationship with a man, we have not yet had intercourse/oral sex but spend a lot of time kissing. He has never had a cold sore but recently had a cold and we continued to kiss during this time. Could I have contracted it from him? I really hope somebody out there can help me. Has this happened to anyone else? I read both articles in the HSV1/HSV2 thread and am still not sure. Heaven forbid that I can no longer kiss without fear of transmission - nunnery here I come! Romany Answer: ro, Are you sure the sore in your mouth is herpes? It may be a canker sore instead. canker sores look alot like herpes ulcerations and hurt like stink. They are caused by certain foods like tomatoes and oranges or anything acidic. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
