chopping thoughts...

Question:
So I found out I have herpes on my frickin finger. Nowhere else. But, it could spread elsewhere if I'm not careful.

Now, I don't know if anyone else has had this reaction, but there is a part of me that really fricking wants to just hack the thing off and never deal with it again.

But that is stupid. I would just be down a finger, and though I never knew it, I could actually have it elsewhere and not know.

I have had no partners with herpes that I know of (there have only been 3).... so it makes me want to scream, cry, or chop. So far, I'm going with crying.

Answer:
Hi. I'm new to this site myself but I had to respond. I have been reading for two days this site and I have found myself comforted by those in a similar situation and my heart hurts for many who have a worst situation than I. I hope you find comfort as I have on/in this site.

Answer:
however you got infected you really can't get the same infection in another area. did your doctor actually take a sample or just tell you it was herpes?

P.S. don't chop it off!

Answer:
I thought a while back that I might have spread herpes to my fingers/hands, turns out all the obsessive handwashing I am doing is triggering my eczema and making IT go haywire.

But I remember the brief that of...I will just cut my hand off. Then reality slipped back in and I was fine. Cutting off the offending appendage will not help. I believe that the virus would come up somewhere else along that same nerve line, so you could have a little stump where your finger WAS...and a big ole sore along the end of the stump.

There are these little finger sheaths you can buy. They are funny, almost look like finger condoms. Most drug stores have them. Wear that during an outbreak. Keep the finger nice and clean. Hope this helps!

Answer:
You're gonna hate this but I'm gonna say it anyway...

I'll trade ya!
