Chicken Pox and Herpes
Question: I am curious if it is possible to be misdiagnosed with HSV Type 1 if you had Chicken Pox when you were a kid. The article below talks about it a little bit in Diagnosis section. http://dermatology.about.com/cs/chic...chickenpox.htm I am thinking that having a Chicken Pox before will leave the anti-bodies in my blood that could be confused with Herpes. Is that true? Thanks. Answer: I think that they mean visually the rash itself can be mistaken for herpes simplex. Testing, be it a culture or bloodwork, will prove it to be herpes once and for all. But the blister/rash itself does look quite similar to a herpes blister/rash. if you had testing done, then chances are you have herpes. I had chicken pox too, btw. Answer: Thank you, I guess I misread that article (wishful thinking). Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
