Well....I already told this story when I introduced myself. Back in the eighties, nobody talked abouth this monster. You will all probably think i am the worst niave person. I got it from giving oral sex to my husband when i had a cold sore on my lip. i had no idea that herpes one had anything to do with genital herpes. I was sooooooo stupid! So here we are, my husband and myself, all these years later, and we still get outbreaks. (I get more than him because i also have endometriosis which compromises the immune system) Any comments for such a dummy as myself??!!

I think most of us probably saw the warning signs but ignored it. I knew my husband had been cheating, and he was acting weird and didn't want me to see him use the bathroom. But I slept with him anyway. So being naive because we love our spouses, is not being stupid; we just know better now.

As for me...my husband had been cheating not only with co-workers but with prostitutes! I had found this out in April of 2006. After having my pap done in June of "06", and all std test coming back in the clear, and hubby telling me he had used protection and wanting to get help from counseling services, etc. ....I like a dumb@ss thought that you could not get herpes or any other std if you wore a condom. So we continued sleeping together, but MAN OH MAN was I 100% WRONG. I now know like all of us that herpes is transmitted if any part of your skin is touching that of a person infected, and more so if the are shedding or having an OB.... :sad:

I just joined this site today and it's because just like you, I was niave and didn't realize that I could get the virus just because my Boyfriend (of 9 yrs) had cold sores....:( . Once we found this out we began to be more careful, but now he is showing possible signs of something in the genital area and I have had NO symptoms EVER, but I am so scared right now that I can't even begin to tell you. Although I am sure that all of you know how I am feeling.....

He is actually at the drs. right now - so we'll see what happens. I'll say a prayer for you!
