Lets take a second to think of other people far worse off than what we are.
Granted that some of you have to take daily surpressive treatment to contain this disease and contain the outbreaks. Fine. I would glady chop off my right leg to rid myself of this curse, i'll live. But lets put this shit into perspective. Most of us here caught this shit through unprotected intercourse. Am i right? Good. We now know where we stand.

To contain the outbreaks some of you have to take 2 pills a day to keep the shit at bay.

Get the fuck over it and carry on. Like i said you will live.

Right. Imagine you have have HIV. Oh shit. You are up shit creek with out a paddle. Forget 2 pills a day, how about 25 pills a day to contain your illness, with out the the sanctity of knowing you will last maybe ten to fifteen years.. And you think you have got it bad..

Granted this is a support forum. What brought you to this place is the fact you have an incurable disease (to quote richard, maybe not if you take lots of exercise and suck on an oxygen tank. Good theories, but none proven). The only thing that brought you this place is the stigma that surrounds having HSV below the waist.. You will live. Pick your self up and beat it with positve thinking, and for one second do not despair. I recently told a perspective partner that i have a condition. The dust is still settling and the outcome not yet resolved.. What ever happens i know i have life and a minor skin condition that will flare up at times of stress and being rundown..

Is it really that simple for you? You are right.. I have not had sex with anyone since learning about the condition. I am a very conscientious person, hence me having to tell a prospective partner (which btw was one of the hardest things i ever done) about my affliction. I have been reading this forum for the last two months and only a few a showing positive steps forward. I came her for advice and information, I did not come here to read that people have been raped and other horrid stories of woes that bestow other people.. Its bad enopugh having this shit, let alone trying to absorb reading that somebody caught this shit from being raped. Jesus H Christ. Some information you just have to keep to yourself...

But if the person you're confiding in is understanding and is willing to work around the disease your onto a winner.. If not and they run for the hill's, get over it and move. I have personally seen what HIV does at first hand. Watching some-one at the age of 31 draw their last breath from HIV really opened my eyes to my condition.
