Is it possible to start a family if the male is infected?
Question: Is it possible to start a family if the male is infected with genital herpes. I'm waiting for the results of a test to determine if I am am infected. If infected is it still possible to father a child, assuming the female is unaffected? Answer: Yes. It is possible. But every precaution has to be taken. Herpes is not a genetic disease so it won't be passed to your child. But you may infect your partner and your child may be infected during the pregnancy or during birth. Ask your doctor, he should be better informed to advise you. Answer: What kind of test are you getting? I'm told here in Canada there are no tests to determine if you have herpes... Thank you. Answer: What kind of test are you getting? I'm told here in Canada there are no tests to determine if you have herpes... Thank you. Tests are only accurate when there are visible sores and blisters which they will take a swab to culture. Blood tests over here in Singapore are all not accurate too. Answer: Hi Lei, I saw your recent message posted here and realise you're also from Singapore. Are you a guy or a lady? Is there any support group in our country? I asked my doctor and DSC who said no. I feel that a support group would be very helpful here. I would like to be your friend. Please feel welcome to write to me at barbdanio@yahoo.com. I hope we could help each other cope with the problem. I'm trying to contact herpes sufferers in Singapore. I asked for contacts in DSC, Clinics etc. But all info is confidential and I can get none. I am stranded in Singapore. I would like to participate in herpes dating. I fear growing old and then dying without getting married. Do write to me so that we can know each other better. Anonymity will be respected if desired. sincerely, barbdanio Answer: Hi Lei, I saw your recent message posted here and realise you're also from Singapore. Are you a guy or a lady?
