I the past 8 monthes I've had genital warts removed with topical applications,
no eduacational talks from the doc that did it....I had to find out on my own what they were and what it could cause ie:in a woman cervacal canser,in men dick canser....thanks for nothin ya DICKHEAD!

Okay - can they really cause cancer? My fella gets them and he doesn't know that they could cause that.

His doctor keeps giving him topical ointment as well. Is there any way to stop getting them?

Yes, certain strains of HPV can cause cervical cancer in women. Hence the importance of annual pap smears, to ensure all is going well down there and if not to rid your nether regions of any warts, thus helping negate the chances of cervical cancers.

Something interesting along the same line:

I just read an article recently showing a HUGE increase in people getting throat cancer. For YEARS things like smoking and the environment, blah blah blah, were blamed for this. Studies now show that the same strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer are now linked to causing things like throat cancer. Makes since, what with all the oral sex going on nowadays, more than ever. (I think this was posted somewhere on here too but never found it)

Just something to ponder. Go gargle with some listerine, quick!! hahaha!!
