Is it a possibility...?
Question: My friend and I were doing some labouring work and he had a coldsore sore, which was beginning to heal, on his lip. He wiped his face/mouth on my towel. Not long afterwards I wiped my face on it and my lips came into contact with his saliva. I washed my lips with water soon after. Today I have a sore throat. Could I have contracted HSV-1? What is the likelihood? Thanks. Answer: Hi, I don't think you get sore throat by being exposed to the HSV virus in that way, even if you were... Mostly, you get HSV virus by skin-to-skin contact. You washed your lip quickly, besides... I doubt if you got the virus in that way.... possibility of getting the virus in that way is very small... You don't have to worry so much, I think... Faith Answer: Thanks for the reply. ive heard that it requires certain 'perfect' conditions to be met for transmission. i washed my lip around a minute later quite thorouly. he was sure that it was healing and later at the pub offered to share a drink with us, and he said he is very careful when it comes to ensuring he dosnt transmit it. hopefully i havent got it. paranoia is annoying. by the way, what was the "you dont have to worry so much, i think..." meant to mean?
