Just Dx, Depressed, Shocked, and Need Inspiration
Question: Hi all, I just recently got diagnosed. I am in shock and depression. On one hand, I think "it's not big deal, I'll just take a pill everytime I feel funny". However, on the other hand, I feel like jumping off a bridge. I hate myself for being so stupid and putting myself at risk for contracting this lifelong illness. I don't know want to think anymore. Does it get better? Do symptoms tend to subside as one ages, or should I expect the same symptoms into my 30's, 40's, and 50's, and beyond? Please help a depressed guy feel somewhat better, is that possible? Answer: However, on the other hand, I feel like jumping off a bridge. I hate myself for being so stupid and putting myself at risk for contracting this lifelong illness. Why do you think you were being stupid? "Everyone" who is secually active is at the risk of contracting herpes. Even when you use condom, you can still get it. People think that when they use condom, it's safe. People think that when their partner don't have any symptom of STD, they can't get anything. But... all are false. Herpes doesn't harm your life at all. It rather enrich your life. Most people who have herpes for long time have mild symptom. Probably, your symptom will be milder as you get recurrences more... So don't worry.. Soon, herpes will be just a nuisance. Please hang in now. Get as many information of herpes as possible. That'll help you to see things in perspective. Don't worry! <smile> Best wishes.. Faith Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
