I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and I'm just trying to be as informed as possible before I put myself at risk or break off this fantastic relationship.

Ive been in a realtionship for 8 yrs I have herpes and never have any form of sex when I know that im going to have an outbreak.I always use condoms for sex.There are no gaurentees in life.Once you get it its for life and is very difficult to live with.Its very painful sometimes,but affects one more so on an emotional level.

hi, paperclip, i am 32 years old, female and i have had herpes since i was 23. i was in a six year relationship with a man who doesn't have herpes now. we never used condoms, but i knew when i was susceptible to outbreaks, they call it prodome. also i have now been married to a man for three years and he hasn't contracted herpes either. i think you need to focus on your life and live safely, use condoms, and don't worry so much. education is key to preventing herpes from happening to you. otherwise, keep hope alive.
