Can any1 help?
Question: Hi Guyz im new here just came across the site..im from australia about to turn 20 this friday and have a night out with friends and drinking at the club all except..ive broken out in coldsores all over my bottom lip and i think my chin has developed some sort of outbreak too!! I got really sunburnt about 3 days ago and only got my first coldsore this morning..i now have up to 5 coldsores, have been treating it with blistex coldsore cream..i applied vaseline to my lips also to keep them from drying out then did something stupid! my chin (being sunburnt also) became irratated and hot..so i applied vaseline to it..yes the same vaseline i applied to my lips with the coldsores! now i have some kind of bubbly rash below my lips on my chin? Is it possible to get an outbreak on your chin?? Im freaking out!! I have 3 days to look normal again!! HELP! Answer: The vaseline is probably making it worse - I'm sure the sunburn brought all this on - denovir topical ointment can help - valtrex can help the outbreak too - girl I work with got a really bad coldsore from a sunburn - sound the same - she went on valtrex and an ointment - I'm not sure which one - my cousin uses the denovir. But it sounds too serious for the blistex - get to your doc.... dermatologist would be better - get some meds - keep it clean and dry - dry it out! get rid of the vaseline - only good for chapped lips, keeping the area moist will allow the virus to live & maybe spread (to your chin maybe?) Answer: Thanks for your help..my rash on my chin has now developed into a minefield of coldsores..ive been trying betadine to dry it out but it doesnt seem to be working!! im still applying the cold sore cream..the actual coldsores on my bottom lip dont really hurt..its my chin , just so painful! The Vaseline definately be thrown out..what a mess! Answer: i like using aloe vera, it soothes a bit, the jelly part, and the liquid part is good, but it "might" spread... i like these cause it smooths it, but i guess keeping it dry may be a better idea. vitamin E on the sore for healing, but thats near the end of the cycle. Take something to boost your immune system, vitamin c, E, echenacia (spelt wrong), st. johns wart, vitamin b complex, zinc... something to boost your immune system to white the virus. lysine, i don't like the blistex coldsore too much, i don't think it is strong enough, at least for me... may be good to see a doctor also Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
