A practicle Cure ?!?!

Question:
I must spend hours on line everyday searching for research and sifting my way through mounds of BS. honestly all I keep hearing is that "the only practicle way to stop herpes is through prevention" that there is no realistic end to the virus. Well thank you. Thank you very much scientist of the world for giveing up on 1/4 the population of the world who are infected with herpes. I am so mad that very few people are looking for an actuall cure. What they call a cure is "sucessful supression" or "stoping the transmision" from one person to another. They arnt trying to cure herpes they are just trying to phase it out. Please someone tell me that they have found clinical studies that prove me wrong. Please PLEASE tell me that there is some doctor out there really trying to help us

Answer:
Yeah there is some doctors out there trying to help us.

Doctor Bill halford. Bill's website also Montana University

The good old guys at the University of Florida. Who are already testing BTW. University of the Flo

The big boys, Glaxo Smith Kline testing there herpavac. Herpavac

There also AuRx. However there progress has been so slow in the last few years that I don't even think there link is worth showing.

Also there has plenty of research done on substances that can kill the virus in a testtube eviroment. Oxygen, Zinc gluconate, Lycrorice, Red marine algea.....

Also there is research going into a form of sexual lubricant that can act as barrier whilst having sex.

Answer:
Does anyone have any idea when the herpevac vaccine will be released to the public?

Answer:
I remember last year or maybe it was early this year. They held a huge trial for it. However the vaccine only proved to be effected in 85% of women and not in effective at all in men and only effective in 2 out of 3 different strains of the HSV-2 virus is was tested for.

So I think it was a bit of a step back for them. There now marketing it as women only vaccine.

Also they have not tested the duration of time someone remains immune for.... or maybe there just doing that just now....

Anyhow it could be a while.

Answer:
omg ..Dakota Blue i could not agree with you more, if i was standing next to you right now i would shake your hand for stating that. I just hate th fact that there are so many scientist, immunologist, virologist in the world and supposedly not one peson in the WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEEE world has not figured out a cure for Herpes. I mean i am not speaking for everyone on this board but it makes me so mad just thinking about how greedy and malicious these drug companies are. They know that more people have herpes than those who dont, therefore, they rather keep inventing treatments instead of cures. Not for nothing but i honestly do believe that there is a cure for Herpes and drug companies know about it, but once again you know what they say Money is the root of all evil, and people will do anything to keep making money its what makes the world go around.

Answer:
It is called (with lots of love and thought put into it of course) Herpevac. A vaccine trial run by glaxo smith kline.

Google it and you will find tons of info on it. Good luck =)

yep its ashame that there has been no cure for this diesease over the last few decades but the pharma companies like ot play it safe. Making a vacinne that works could have serious side effects as it would almost certainly have to be a live virus vaccine that could possibly mutate. So its just easier for them to come out with suppressents. Legally and long term finanacially its a win win situation for them. They know there competitors aren't going to touch that option either.

Some deluded people on this forum would disagree because they don't think a couple of hundred million dollars from herpes supressents is worth much to the pharma companies.
