Minor OBs?
Question: I have several questions on shedding and symptoms... I do not know where all I have HSV2. I have not had swabs done to confirm any locations. I have gotten large blisters on my chest and 3 times now on the roof of my mouth. I have frequent irritation downstairs but nothing that I can see as a sore etc. My questions are: I get small red dots scattered around my body. I may get 5-10 on my stomach, they are flat and about 1/2 the size of a pencil eraser. The odd thing is they are around my entire waist area. Not clustered and not only one one side. There is no pain with them, they are just "there". They last anywhere from 3 to 9 days or so. I'll get one small little bumps/blister on upper arm. It is the size of a pen tip, doesn't hurt, it has a quick itch which I scratch before I even realize it might be somthing. These relatively quickly scab over and disappear in about a week. I want to think these funny dots and bumps are nothing but want to know if other people experience these odd things. I know docs speak of asymptomatic shedding and I wonder if mini OBs like these could actually be what they call asymptomatic shedding, "When the virus is on the skin and active but there is no lesion." I really hope this is not HSV in these many odd locations but the only place I am certain of having this is on my chest and orally. Thoughts or similar experiences anyone? Answer: get them swabbed as soon as they have any fluid in them, immediately........or get them scraped immediately when they form, before scabbing over. It can in fact be hsv but do not take a "negative" culture as them not being hsv, as it is very tricky sometimes to get enough active virus from a culture, since the timing of the swab has to be just right.
