Can HSV2 spread to the hand?

Question:
Hey everyone,

I've been lurking on this forum for awhile but have never posted yet. I recently met a new girl who does not have H, had the talk with her and she decided she wanted to continue seeing me. The other night we were fooling around she started jerking me off, to which I stopped her relatively quickly.

Now, I haven't had an outbreak in sometime (probably 7 months) and don't really show any symptoms, only occassional itching anymore.

I take Valtrex daily as well as vitamins and other things to build up my immune system. I also workout almost daily. I have read these are things that can help to reduce outbreaks so I try to do them all.

Anyhow, can H be transferred to the hand if she were to get me off with her hand? I know it can be transferred orally if you're not careful, but how about the hand?

Also, I masturbate occassioanlly like anyone else. Now, this is probably a really stupid question but there is no way to give it to her if I fingered her is there? I don't have anything on my hands as far as I know.

I feel silly asking these questions but would appreciate it if anyone would reply.

Thanks.

Answer:
yea it can.
you would need to be shedding, and she would need a cut or some break in the skin which isnt so uncommon. and theres a good chance she can get it like that.

as long as you dont have it on your hands, you cant give it to her through your hands.

Answer:
A good chance she can get it eh? Well, that stinks.

I'll keep that in mind. Again, I don't "think" I shed much anymore but who knows.

Are the odds greater for her getting it on the hand or orally?

Just curious.

Thanks for the input.

Answer:
I guess the chance doesn't decrease by using lotion then?

Answer:
lol no lotion wont make a difference...
more chance orally, the skin' inside your mouth is alot thinner and can easily be penetrated by the virus, unlike the hands, which are tougher-but if theres a cut well that just takes away the "toughness"

Answer:
so does this work the same way for women who are infected? If a woman is infected and her partner wanted to finger her, will H be transfered to the hand? Or is it only more likely that it will be transfered through a cut on the hand? and would the partner need to wash their hands right away to avoid spreading the virus to other parts of the body?

Answer:
Another question....can I spread it to my own hand? Meaning if I masterbate during no outbreak can I potentially get herpes of the hand?

I hope not because I've been doing this for a year already. And quite frequently I might add.

Answer:
dakota- yes, same goes for women. washing wont help if you have been doing it for awhile, maybe directly after touching (like minutes) but if you do said action then have sex for awhile... really wont do much difference, especially if theres a cut then its just a waste of soap.

florida- yes you can, but since you already have H, its alot harder for you to reinfect yourself in different areas- but it is not impossible, and can happen.

So what can I do to combat this....
And what are the stats about this...
exactly what are the chances....
is it 100% my partner will get HW
or is it 2%
that makes a big difference
