asymptomic and safe....?

Question:
I have had excellent results from acyclovir - no sores, adema or any visible signs for months (knock wood). But I get occasional itching. It is NOT, however, followed by any other symptoms which would suggest an outbreak.

My question is: if I have a little itching should I refrain from sex, or use a condom, and assuming the answer is yes, for how long? When I get itching it usually only happens once, and is very mild. Should I wait 'til the next day - a week?

It could be the itching has nothing to do with herpes and I'm worrying too much - my doctor basically said this. But I want to be sure for the sake of my partner. What do you suggest?

Answer:
I do get frequent minor itching too. Just make sure the itching area don't come into contact with your partner. Or you can wash with a mild antiseptic soap before sex. Make sure a condom is used throughout the session.

Just from my own experience. Not intended as medical advice.
