Close to a Cure? China Rx company claims 90% reduction of infection

Question:
Hi

I am new here and I was just recently diagnosed with haveing HSV-2. I have read some positive things here and I have read some negative. I am a very positive person and I refuse to let this beat me. So for my starting quest for a cure I ran into a article that was published yesterday (10/17/2007) about a Chinese Pharmaceutical who claims to have gotten approval after trials for a antiviral medicine that reduces the HPV and HSV infection by 90%. They plan on launching it in both Europe and the United States. Is it possible the Chinese have made a break through?

Answer:
Hey,

Welcome cureseeker.

Many people gave up the hunt for a cure a long time ago. Almost everyone has hunted for one at some piont. Hopefully you will succeed where many have failed.

Good luck, i'll be watching for your thread with anticipation.

Answer:
It's just medication - it's not a cure.

Answer:
I sent an email to the company asking for more info. The press release doesn't say a lot about this drug.

Syagrius

Answer:
Oh good, post use what they say.

It's obviously not a cure but it can reduce viral load by 90% so its definately worth looking into. Who knows with the right proceedural technique one day it might be a cure.

Fingers crossed =)

Answer:
Hmmm...

"The all-natural medicine has been approved in China for external use to treat human papillomavirus and herpes simplex virus. Tests have shown an inhibitory effect on the growth of HPV and HSV, and the drug can reduce the infection from HPV and HSV by up to 90% in only two to three days..."

So is it a cream? And, reducing the infection by any percentage during an outbreak doesn't really do much to solve the problem of shedding.

Or, am I reading it all wrong?

Answer:
No I don't think you're reading it wrong.

I love the bit that says 'in only two or three days', well outbreaks often only last 2-3 days in any case.

I'm not impressed.

Although I support cureseekers in his/her...seeking :D

Answer:
I just read The Herpes Handbook from 1983 and it says that by going on their prescribed low acididy diet, certain supplements, and being treated with homeopathic drugs that it's possible to totally eradicate the herpes virus from one's system. I have also read several claims on another website message board that individuals who have been on extremely clean diets over a period of years have eventually tested negative for the virus. Has anyone else heard of this happening or had this experience? I am not a big believer in the claims of Western Medicine and I prefer to think outside of the box. I know for a fact that being on a good diet and exercising can keep one symptom-free, but I want to find out if homeopathy can really eradicate the virus form my body. Don't you?

Answer:
Just so you know...it is not uncommon to have negative blood tests and still have herpes. It does NOT mean that you are no longer harboring the virus. 10 to 15% of people that have herpes can have a negative blood test. I have had herpes for many years and have had negative blood tests. So...don't be to quick to jump on that bandwagon.
