EARLY TREATMENT REDUCES RECURRENT OUTBREAKS???
Question: I just read an article that says: "It may be especially important to identify a primary infection (if possible) and to treat it as soon as possible, since some preliminary research suggests that early treatment may limit the number of viruses that remain latent in the body and reduce the frequency of recurrent outbreaks." Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? Should I go ahead and get on some antivirals just in case I do have herpes? (The article can be found at the following link: http://www.healthandage.com/Home/%21...es%21gid6=5202 Answer: Hi Tinglered, I've read a couple of articles which is similar to that. A reason that some recommend you to be on suppressive therapy (taking Valtrex everyday) is that they think, by taking it you can keep HSV virus from increasing in your body, and that'll reduce the number of virus in your body in the long run. ( as our cells which is already infected with the virus die a little by little ). But.... in your case.... Hmmmm... I doubt if you should do it though... It's good for herpes, but it's a strong medicine... You shouldn't take it if you don't need to... ....Sorry.. I don't really know what to say about that..
