HPV AND HERPES????????

Question:
I AM A 22 YR OLD FEMALE WITH HERPES AND HPV(NO GENITAL WARTS THOUGH). I WANT TO HAVE KIDS ONE DAY :( . IS THERE ANYONE ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD THAT HAS BOTH? WERE YOU KIDS BORN HEALTHY? CAN SOMEBODY REPLY BACK ASAP!!!!!!

Answer:
Genital warts are HPV... Its the virus that causes genital warts anyway... Yes you can have kids with herpes and HPV... The only real problem is if your outbreaking during labour it could kill your child, so they would have to do a c-section if thats the case... Otherwise, nothing will happen to your baby...

Answer:
I have a very healthy 3 year old and was misdiagnosed while I was pregnant, ended up with a c-section luckily..

A friend in med shool in his labor/maternity rotation said he was shocked as to how many women came in to a high profile hospital to have their babies and told them they had HSV - he said it seemed like 65% had something to watch for - mostly HSV - all had healthy babies.

You will be fine, just expect you may have OBs from being pregnant - hormones, dampness... so make it clear to the doc that you want a C when you are ready to have kids! Good luck!

Answer:
The only real problem is if your outbreaking during labour it could kill your child Hey Rich, no offense, but that quote really stuck out as a little harsh for me. As true as it can be in a small percentage of situations, if I was newly diagnosed, and had no prior knowledge, that comment would have sent me right over the edge. Maybe a "maternal" thing, I'll take that, but you've been so knowledgable and sentive elsewhere.... we mom's and women could use some of that, here is a great example.

Truth be told, Black Orchid was born while her mom had an outbreak - her twin sister is fine, she has a very bad case of herpes.... but she is alive.

So, to WHYME: Sweetheart - there has been herpes around since probably the middle ages. You will be fine. Just learn, be safe and be happy. Your children one day will benefit from that.

Answer:
I KNOW THAT HPV CAN CAUSE WARTS... I WAS JUST STATING THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY WARTS AND NO SIGN OF PRE CANCER. AND THANKYOU LASMOM FOR YOUR CONCERN

Answer:
Hi Richard,

There are different strains of HPV, some cause genital warts and some don't. Some people never have any genital warts although they are diagnosed with HPV. Most men who are carriers of the HPV virus carry the high risk strain of the virus. They then pass this on to the women without knowing that they have anything. Most of the High risk hpv cause abnormal changes in a woman's pap smear, which could cause cervical cancer. No genital warts.

It's possible that if you've been with a woman who has ever had dysplasia....8-9 out of 10 of those women were carrying the HPV virus. Though they probably were never told that.

Why me,
I've read a ton of posts on each subject that say there is nothing stopping you from having a healthy baby! So go get at it!

I've done so much research since finding out I have HSV. I want to be prepared to know all the rest!
Lovely
