Hello, Ive had maybe 3 herpes outbreaks in the last 4 years. When I get an outbreak, I use "Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face lotion" with Alpha Hydroxy. Its good stuff.

I have applied it generously (to the sore very thick, and the whole penis)
when necessary on a fresh sore if one happens to come up, and miraculously the sore is practically gone and healed overnight and no more pain. I used to get at least one about ever 4 or 5 months from 21 to 25 years of age and they would be sore for 2 -5 days, but not any more. It works every time. I even went almost 18 months without a single outbreak. I attribute it to the alpha hydroxy in the lotion. It will irritate a little if you put it on a new lesion however, but only for a sec. I wanted to share this info years ago...but I wanted to wait a while to make sure it wasnt a fluke and it really worked. I have tried a few other brands or products that have very high levels of alpha hydroxy in them, and they worked well also...but the neutrogena product worked for me the best. If one does masterbate when a lesion is just starting and not fully developed and uses the lotion as an aid...its likely you will prevent a full blown outbreak, and only experience one day of mild soreness with no or little scarring, and not have a recurring outbreak for up to a year or possible longer.

Please... dont knock it until you try it...as far as im concermed...this lucky find was truly a miracle in my life and a gift from God to ease my pain.

Also...When I went 18 months without an outbreak...I applied it all over the penis about once every few months

this has worked for me for the last 10 years
I was too embarrased to post or tell anyone until now.

Remember...apply it very very generously to the effected area for about 1 minute or so and leave a little extra on top of that. at least once a day after you shower before you go to work, and or go to bed in the evening only during an outbreak.

Cain I used to work for a cosmetic company that had a product line that included alpha hydroxy lotion as an available product. After applying the lotion to my face...which was its intended use (it would burn and tingle a bit) I noticed great results! My facial skin looked more youthful and younger after just a few applications. The first part of the story here, is why I had the lotion in the first place.

This was around 10 years ago, and at the time I started getting alot of painful outbreaks, sometimes two spots at the same time. Anyways...I had the thought, Hmmm...what if the fruit acids would attack the virus (so to speak) and break the virus down? I used to read many articles and books about the benefits of anti-oxidant vitamins which im sure inspired the thought, but had never before heard it from anyone. It was just an experiment.

After a painful outbreak, two different spots, and about the third day into it, It even hurt to walk sometimes and I got fed up and grabbed the bottle of lotion and applied it heavily over the effected area. It burned a bit at first, then after a few minutes, only the normal pain associated with movement etc ... The next day the two spots were significantly reduced and the pain was much less. Two days later the spots were almost completely gone and no pain. After this success I though to myself; What if I put a lot of lotion on my penis when an attack is just beginning (at least for me there is about a 12 to 24 hour window before they become full blown). And to my suprise, this seemed to cut off a major outbreak and kill them before they became full blown. A few times, like maybe once or twice in the last 10 years the sore came to fruition, but only lasted a day with pre-treatment and regular treatement.

1. I notice a sore coming on.
2 I apply the lotion all over very thick and concentrate it on the spot...twice a day( when i first notice and before bedtime)
(this almost always cuts them off from occuring)
3. If the sore does occur (day two) I applied it very heavily again once in the morning and in the evening before I went to bed again.
4. No symptoms and feeling much better. day three.

I state with all honesty that 9 out of 10 times or better that as long I pre-treated the effected area, the infection is halted completely. And even better...if I applied the lotion monthly, or masterbated with it once a month...I would get no outbreaks for months. I even believed for a while that I was cured because I didnt get an outbreak for 18 months and slacked applying it for a few months! My own arrogance defeated me I guess...it was working so well.

Perhaps this can and will lead to a pharmacutical grade alpha hydroxy that will benefit tougher cases to crack than mine, or just the regular lotion I use. Either way, I will never want to seek any profit from this idea unless offered by another. It would just make me happy if I knew that many people were helped by my sharing of this information. I really hope this works for you...hopefully this is just a diamond in the rough that we can all share with one another for free.

tks, i have a question for you... i live in europe and i was able to find Lubriderm with PHA (PolyHydroxy Acid). Would this classify as the same thing you are talking about? It was also a little more expensive than the rest or more common lotions. It was aprox. 10 euros. I bought it, but now I'm not sure if its the right one. I getcold sores, so I could probably use this as prevention on almost a daily basis. Let me know what you think. Thanks again for sharing.
