Advice from other females?
Question: I'm feeling so miserable right now. I have what I believe to be an outbreak, and it's been almost 2 weeks now. (I've already been diagnosed with GH) Before the outbreak I was having sharp pains in my legs, tingling in my feet, headaches, nauseous, and felt really tired/sick. I started having bad tummy pains, burning sensation when I urinate, and I can feel little tiny bumps on the inside walls of my vagina as well as just on the outside. It's itchy, uncomfortable, feels almost like it throbs at times, and burns when I urinate. I went to my doctor's yesterday because I'm on Valtrex which you take twice a day during an outbreak. It's not helping. Part of me feels like Valtrex isn't strong enough. I don't even feel like it cleared up my first outbreak. Anywho, the doc says he can't see or feel nothing. Well, he wasn't feeling the right spot and it's not easy to see. The bumps are the color of my skin, perhaps a tiny bit red from irritation. My question is, do any other females get these symptoms? Does Valtrex work? Have you heard of it not being strong enough? This is affecting my job. I have the most uncomfortable feeling ever. And I don't know what to do. My doc gave me some vaginal cream for yeast infections and it's made it worse. I'm almost positive I'm having an outbreak. *sigh* I remember the first outbreak I had. The docs insisted it WAS NOT H. What do you know...they put me through misery. Wouldn't give me meds. Found the results a week later after hella pain. And it was GH. I am so frustrated right now. I just want this to go away and something to help me. The Valtrex twice a day isn't helping. I've spent near 100 on pills this month. Grrr... Any advice /help would be appreciated!!! Answer: good grief! that doctor needs to have his head examined. from what my doctor told me and from the literature he gave me, your symptoms are normal. pain in your back, hips, legs and feet is because the virus lives in the part of your spinal comumn that affects that part of the body. i experience that mildly, and also burning during urination. if there is a sore in a spot where the urine gets on it, it burns super bad. during my first ob it was so bad, i considered fasting! and that first one lasted a little over two weeks. i have heard of having outbreaks inside your body as well as outside, but don't have any experience with this. anyway, each person's ob's are different, yours are apparently very bad. valtrex could be keeping it from being even worse than it is, i know it works for me. i don't think yeast infection cream would help, ask for zovirax or something topical that provides pain relief. and if he doesn't want to give it to you, tell him to go screw himself and find a new gyno. i don't like the sound of this guy. everything you're described checks out with what i've read and experienced in the short time i've had the virus. oh, something that helped me that you could try, is shower constantly. if you have a shower head on a long hose that's a plus, water seemed to calm down the area for me. then get out and use a hair dryer to blow the area dry. keeping open sores dry is big to keep pain down. that helped me for a little while. longer if you can sit still and watch tv or something, or before bed, it should give you a little break from the pain between times you have to move around a lot, work and such. just make sure you pee before you do it so you don't spoil it! heh.
