BHT -- Has anyone tried this to treat herpes?
Question: I have read miraculous claims about the food preservative BHT. It is an antioxidant that destroys lipid-encapsulated viruses and has been reported to be an effective tool against Herpes). I have read up on it since, and can't see any harm in taking it at a relatively low dose (about 350mg). I bought two bottles and started taking it today. I am also taking St. John's Wort as Hypericin is reportedly antiviral. Has anyone else heard about this or, better yet, tried it? If anyone's interested, I'll keep people posted on my progress (or side effects)! Thanks, Christa P.S. I posted the above message on another topic board before I saw that this one  Answer: Well I have been on BHT for about a month.... and I have had 3 outbreaks... I started taking about 350 mg a day and then increased to about 1000mg a day after first OB. Beed disolving in olive oil or using pills.... How is it going for you? Answer: Znob, So can we say its not working for you? Are you getting an OB even afer using 1000mg per day? Answer: yep, I just got another OB yesterday. This is unheardof.... 4 outbreaks in about a month now... I definitely believe the BHT is triggering this. Answer: Znob, that really sounds tough, but hey this is what this site is all about, to exchange information. Not sure if you're a guy or a girl, but I have been using Purell with aloe for the last four and a half months and still no outbreaks. Why don't you start trying it once you have healed up. Apply it once in the morning after you dried up from showering, again after you return home from work, and again before you go to bed, and every day. Just a drop or two in the area where you get your outbreaks. I am a guy, and I am not sure about the possibilities of using it down there for a woman. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
