Occular herpes?
Question: A friend of mine gets cold sores pretty regularly. This weekend, we were talking and she accidently spit (gleeked) while talking and a tiny bit of her saliva landed *very close* (in?) the corner of my eye. I immediatly wiped it off and went to the bathroom to flush my eye out with water. She didn't have a cold sore, but looked like she might have had one recently or maybe was going to get one soon. I've never had a cold sore or any other herpe related sores. Could I possibly get occular herpes from the saliva landing in my eye? Someone please answer, I am very scared and keep looking at my eye to see if it's red and can't tell if it really feels like there is something in my eye or if I'm making that up since I know it's a symptom. Help! Sincerely, Very scared and paranoid Answer: I am not a doctor, so I can't guarantee what I say.... but I don't think that you can pass herpes that way. From what I have read, you can only pass herpes by direct contact with a herpes lesion or skin that is actively shedding the virus. But research it and see what you can find out. :P Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
