2 people with herpes having children
Question: hello, iam have just been diagnosed with gential herpes and iam 28 and my boyfriend of the last 2 years also just found out that he also has it and we both got tested for std's and aids when we got together and both tested negative but now we are wondering if we could still have children or would it be to much of a risk to have a child does anyone have any answers? he is only 25 and has no children i do have 2 from a previous relationship. Answer: I went through my pregnancy with no problems and only one attack of herpes. The disaster struck! I got an outbreak two days before the due date. The consultant thought it would be OK to try for a natural delivery but in the end two doctors convinced me to have a C section after nine hours of agonising labour. (No sores visible by that time but they didn't want to take any risks). All was well, I had a beautiful baby boy and don't regret a thing. Answer: If you have H, will your babies be born with the virus also? Do you pass it on through the blood? Answer: It can be passed through childbirth if the mother is shedding or having an unseen outbreak. Many women have it on their cervix, etc so if the baby has contact that way, the baby could contract it. By having a c-section, that avoids the baby passing through the cervix or other vaginal areas. I don't think the virus is in your blood, only the antibodies to the virus. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
