On transmission
Question: I've been dating someone for about 2 months, most of the sex was protected, the last time it was not. That was on a Saturday, on the next Monday evening he noticed he was breaking out. He immediately tested on Tues, pos for H2. He told me and I'm being tested in the morning, and currently freaking out... Is the possibility high that he was shedding 2 days before a breakout? I've been reading and reading and trying to understand before I go in so that I don't scare myself too much with any positive results. I've always had fever blisters, no biggie, every time I get sick throughout my life. I've never had any symptoms but I know that doesn't mean squat. I'm concerned with the fact that he didn't know, and 2 days later he broke out... His breakout was on thwe scrotum near his thigh and probably didn't touch me but I can't be sure. Also, I can't find this from reading: what exactly is the difference in having antibodies but never any breakouts, vs having breakouts? Can you transmit the same, does either way generate shedding (with no breakouts)? Answer: You can still pass the virus if you dont have outbreaks. If you have antibodies that means you were exposed to the virus and now have it. Many people are different, some people never get outbreaks, but just because you dont get outbreaks doesnt mean you cant spread the virus. People who dont get outbreaks still shed and can pass the virus onto someonelse while shedding. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
