Oxygen?
Question: I have seen many referrences on these messageboards about oxygen...high levels, low levels, HBOT, etc. That brought me to this question....please forgive me if I sound crazy coming to this conclusion. I have had herpes since 1991....never had any recurring OBs until the beginning of 2004. I have had almost non-stop outbreaks ever since. The only thing that I can come up with that changed in my life since January 2004 is that I began a regular exercise routine as a New Years 2004 resolution. Is it possible that the dip in oxygen levels experienced during vigorous excercise could allow this virus to thrive. Other than that, I can't come to any conclusion on what could possibly be the trigger of these OBs....that has been the only change in my life that seems to mysteriously connect with when these OBs began.....I would love to hear your thoughts. Answer: In my humble opinion extreme form of exercise can decrease your immune system as your body starts to heal very minor injurys sustained during your exercise. If you haven't exercised for a long time your body needs time to adjust to this new routine. Start taking vitamins and get enough rest in between exercises. Let me know how it goes. Answer: The oxygen helps destroy the virus as they can't live in oxygen rich environments, however, they thrive in acidic environments. When you excercise your muscles create lactic acid which oxygen removes from the muscule tissue. If you are doing weights just make sure you are doing deep breathing excercises. Also, if you are doing any type of supplement, make sure there is less L-Arginine than L-Lysine. Herpes and L-Arginine are very good friends so up your L-Lysine intake. Some take 1-3g daily and up to 3-7g daily during an outbreak. All of this information is based on lots and lots of reading and research. I have no personal experience.
