Lysine and vitamin question..

Question:
I just joined a few days ago and was reading alot of posts today and one post was in requards to daily vitamins....so I went out and baught a bunch and started taking them. (vitamin E iu. a super B complex, C and lysine) I got to reading up on lysine and read that you arent supposed to take them daily..only when you feel you may be having an outbreak.
To anyone that takes them daily, are you having any side affects from the daily use and are you finding it helpfull?
Also..anyone take olive leaf extract? If so..how does it work for you. Also I've read that it could have an affect on the amino acids that are present in the lysine, so do anyone of you take lysine verses olive leaf? Any info on these would be appriciated.
Thanks..

Del.

Answer:
Well ive been taking lysine daily but I wasnt aware that you werent supposed to take it that much and wasnt aware of the OLE interfering with the Lysine. Where did you read this? I would love to see a link or something.

Personally the only side effects that I have noticed is that I have found myself getting constipated from all these damn vitamins. Like seriously contipated!! Ive never had any problems with pooping. EVER! So im trying to figure out what it is. Other than that, I think they are helping because it seems that everytime I get slack on taking them, I get an outbreak. Even with the outbreaks that I am getting, they arent terribly bad. The first one I had was terrible. Now they look like little tiny white heads. No lesions or anything.

Im also taking the OLE as well as cats claw, and vit a and e. I just started taking the cats claw during my last outbreak and as soon as I started taking it, my outbreak went away fairly quickly(in about 2 days).

I kinda slacked off on taking the lysine and OLE yesterday and I woke up with yet another OB. So go figure. I have a lot of stress in my life and I didnt fall asleep until really late last night so Im thinking that was a major factor.

Thats is one of the sites i first checked out in reguards to Olive leaf extract ..imparticular this paragraph..
"The amino acids glycine, lysine, histadine, and cysteine (including n-acetyl-l-cysteine) may interfere with the action of one of the components of Olive Leaf Extract. However, there are at least six active substances in the extract and it may not have a significant clinical effect. These six substances work together to prevent resistance by pathogenic organisms."

So I was wondering if anyone else had heard this and if anyone was taking both..how they were reacting to it.
Just about anything i read on Lysine says not to take it everyday..never a reason why just its not to be taken everyday..i'll post some links for that as well..

"Bottom Line: Though the studies have been inconclusive so far, this amino acid may help head off recurrences of cold sores. Don't take lysine pills daily over long periods, but only when you feel cold sores coming on."

This stuff is just things I ran across and figured i'd ask people that may know more about it. But i'm taking vits and lysine everyday and i'm hoping that makes a difference. I dont have many breakouts but i'd like as few as absolutely possible hey? LOL

Thanks..
