Question:
I have been taking L-Lysine supplement, two tabs a day of a cheap supplement bought from local health store. I have not had an outbreak of cold sores for TWO YEARS, after being plaugued with at least one a month. I also had one Type 2 outbreak four years ago, but never again. I have tried every medication under the sun. Herpes ruined my life for too long. Lysine gives me no side effects what so ever. Maybe someone else has already posted about Lysine. I just had to post here because it really has cured me.

I have also been taking the L-Lysine (500 mg) 1 tablet every day. I have not had an outbreak since I have been taking it. I haven't had herpes that long (only since January 1, 2005). For the 1st month I had 1 outbreak, then another started. I tried Valtrex, and it does work. But when you don't have health insurance it can be expensive to depend on that drug. So, I have read about L-Lysine at this website, and other websites I found online. So I thought I'd give L-Lysine a try, it was pretty cheap compared to Valtrex, so I really had nothing to loose. So I went to Target and bought a bottle of it (about 250 tablets for around $7 or so) and I haven't had an issue since. So, I'm just going to keep taking it, may as well.

I hope others find this information and tries it out.

I heard Lysine only works for cold sores. How about genital herpes? Does it work too?
