the people that I live with are afraid that they might have somehow gotten HSV from me, none of us have ever been sexually intimate but we have hugged, never shared a bathroom nothing like that...is there anyway that they could have gotten it and how?

Answer:
Unless they are sharing wash clothes, touching infected areas of your body, or having sex with you..there is no possible way they can get it from you. If they contract herpes it's due to their own actions. Seeing how you struggle with hsv I would think that they would become highly aware of this and take every precaution necessary to see that they dont end up here. But at the same time, you cant be upset with them for being afraid of contracting a lifelong virus. It's scary, especially for those NOT already infected.
