Check this out - use no oils when wearing a condom
Question: I was looking into the problems with the male type condoms and the fact that they do not cover the penis entirely. I have stated on a few of my post that the male type condoms have a serious design flaw in that they do not fully extend to the base of the penis. All the condoms that I have used to date leave between 1-2 inches of exposed skin near the base of the penis even when fully rolled out. This is how I contracted the herpes virus, as a result of the exposed skin-to-skin contact. I just came from the Trojan website where I found this little bit of information that I thought could be useful to everyone. I have read several posts here stating the use Olive oil to protect your skin from direct contact in addition to wearing a condom. Here is what Trojan states in regards to that: "Never let a latex condom touch oils in any form?no petroleum jelly, no baby oil, no mineral oil, no vegetable oil, not even talcum/baby powder. Oil causes condoms to deteriorate." This information is located under number 3 "Tips for success". Link: http://www.trojancondoms.com/info_center/condom_use/ As you can see use the options are very limited. Use the oil to protect your skin from direct skin-to-skin contact and risk destroying the condom that could potentially lead to an STD's and/or get your partner pregnant. I find that the Female Condom is a much better choice as it protects both partners better then the male condom from skin-to-skin contact. :!: Answer: Additional info about the Female Condom: "Covers both the woman?s internal and external genitalia and the base of the penis, which provides broader protection."
