I want to stop taking valtrex
Question: Has anyone else tried stopping? I've been on it almost two years, I am finally less stressed about it, and want to start a lower dose, and then stop altogether and go back to episodic treatment. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with stopping? I've been using it as a crutch in a way, just to feel safe from the outbreaks, but I'm ready to give it a try without, and see if I only get the occasional outbreak as I did before I got diagnosed (it wasn't so bad!). Would love to hear what anyone else has been through, thanks. Answer: I have been on at for last 1.5 years and I want to stop taking it to. But I plan to take some natural substances when I stop, for e.g Olive Leaf extract such that the oleuropein (the effective ingredient) is more than 300mg per day. or Monolaurin more than 6gm perday. Answer: anyone? surely someone on here has stopped taking it. i am in the same situation. i definitely know what you ean aout using it as a crutch. i desperately want to stop taking it but am scared to. if anyone did, did you add any supplements to help fight it off when the valtrex wasn't there? did you gradually wean off of it? over how long of a period? pp's...did you guys stop taking it yet? how did you do it? did you have lots of obs? did you add anything else in place of it? please let me know how it went! thanks! I was on suppression for two years. I stopped suppression to see where my body was at and everything was just fine. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with stopping? I had no outbreaks when I stopped. It was nine months before I got my first outbreak and that was easily treated with three days of Valtrex. Today I probably get one or two outbreaks a year - if that - since stopping suppression. You don't need to add supplements... just stop and go from there... ok? pp's...did you guys stop taking it yet? how did you do it? did you have lots of obs? I was on suppression for two years and it was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I stopped suppression in the spring of 2001. It was nine months before I got an outbreak. That was easily treated with three days of Valtrex. I don't get frequent outbreaks like I used to and I think it's all because of suppression and the fact that I have had the virus for quite some time. The only time I go on suppression these days is right before I'm about to have a baby. Other than that... I don't need it any more. did you add anything else in place of it? No, not at all. It's totally not necessary to add anything. please let me know how it went! thanks! Good Luck and Merry CHRISTmas!! Angela :D Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
