Not sure if this is the right forum....
Question: Is there a web site, where I can get a list of foods that could bring out an outbreak? I just would like to know, so I can watch what I am intaking  Thanks Vibe Answer: There is no clinical proof whatsover that shows avoiding certain foods will help you with your herpes. Hang in there, Angela  Answer: Avoid chocolate and nuts Answer: Avoid chocolate and nuts I eat nuts and chocolate all the time and I don't get outbreaks. That is why it's important to keep an open mind. Again ~ everybody is different. Angela  Answer: you gotta lot of nerve posting a "...important to keep an open mind" comment on seeing a lot of your posts. Answer: you gotta lot of nerve posting a "...important to keep an open mind" comment on seeing a lot of your posts. You're just pissed off because strict diets have not been proven clinically to do anything for herpes. I eat all the chocolate and nuts that I want to and I don't get an outbreak. Granted there are those that insist chocolate and nuts will trigger their outbreaks and that's fine for them. Why is one way ok for you but when I share the parts of the other story that I personally have experience with, then all of a sudden it's not ok? Or perhaps you are just pissed off that I am able to voice my own opinions based on my own experiences and knowledge about such matters? Angela  Answer: There is no clinical proof whatsover that shows avoiding certain foods will help you with your herpes. Hang in there, Angela  Not true, Angela. Lysine has been found to be active against the herpes virus in vitro, as it is able inhibit the metabolism of arginine - an amino acid required by the virus for replication. Supplementation with lysine should be accompanied by a diet high in foods rich in lysine (such as vegetables, legumes, fish, sprouts and dairy products), and avoiding foods rich in arginine (such as chocolate, nuts, oats, carob, coconut and soya beans).
