Help please...Orofacial Infection (Herpes)
Question: Hey... I need some help regarding the herpes virus. I was infected with it through a cut in my lip. Ulcers in my mouth sprung up, and my lips started to grow these yellow pustule-like things that were hard and brittle. They grew until they covered my entire lip. It looked like a growth of fungi. Then pus started forming beneath this yellow layer. I went to a doctor, who prescribed antibiotics and a cream. Though the ulcers went after a while, the yellow layer still remained. I went to a second doctor, who said that all I needed to do was moisten my lip, and he recommended oil or ghee(kinda like animal fat). But they still didn't go away. Then, I went to a dermatologist, who scraped the layer away, and prescribed antibiotics and a cream. But they still resurfaced. A family friend (doctor) suggested that allergies were to blame, and he prescribed anti-allergiants, and another cream. But after that too, the problem is coming back. All this is over a span of 3 months. I am tired of this. 3 doctors and no effect. My boards are this May, and I think this infection might affect my grade. I'm mentally exhausted, and dont know what to do. Can anyone recommend something. I dont know what to do. Please reply soon Bapu. Answer: Hi Bapu ~ Did any of the specialists that you saw even bother to test you for herpes? Hang in there, Angela  Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
