Choraphor...anything else?
Question: Help. Is there anything besides Choraphor that will make the sores go freakin' AWAY faster??? This time it seems to be taking forever. It's been weeks! I'm not against trying Choraphor, except the cost. Have tried Oxy C-2 gel, and tea tree oil. They just burned and nothing went away any faster. I've upped my dose of lysine, and added Valtrex daily. Answer: Hey there, You know what...everyone is different and sometimes, certain things can trigger an outbreak (weather, stress, food!) and MAKE it different as well. Alot of these "remedies" for herpes seem to be a joke. I am not even big on prescribed suppressive medication ( I only use it if I have an OB, and THEN if I feel it is going to be a bad one.) I am not saying to NOT take/use these things (whatever makes you feel better than use it!!) but I think most of it is crap. Honestly, all I use on a daily basis is Lysine. It is cheap cheap cheap (like...$3 at Trader Joes.!!!) and I take one vitamin a day (about 500 mgs.) and I will take about 1000 mgs a day if I suspect I am getting an outbreak. DURING an outbreak, I will take about 2000 mgs a day. Never go over that though, cuz it could be harmful. but I rarely have outbreaks now (I did BAD when I was pregnant, but THAT is another story) . I just take the vitamins (Lysine, bcomplex, some C) and that is it. If I get an outbreak, I clean it with a cotton ball saturated in Hydrogen Peroxide. (also nice and cheap!!) It will sting a bit, but I like a product that I see WORKING its magic, cleaning out the germs and drying out the annoying sore. Once the sore is dryed out, I use a teeny drop of A and D ointment, too keep it soothed. I have heard of people using Aloe and tree oil and again, I say if it works for you, try it. Everyone is different and our bodies react differently to various products. I had to use myself as my own guinea pig to find out what works best for me. I hope you find your own remedy, no matter what it is. Good luck to you!!! Let us know if anything works for you....it may help someone else on here! Answer: Appreciate the feedback. I am leery of daily Valtrex as well, but am desperate now. Will add the b complex...know I'm supposed to, just hadn't yet. May try the Hydrogen peroxide. This has been stinging way too long now.
