do i or don't i?

Question:
i need some help. my dr. is a real bitch and won't discuss my condition with me, so i have no where else to go. my boyfriend knows i have type2 herpes and wants me to quit my birth control pills and have another baby any way. now the question is, do i or don't i? i really want a baby, but i'm not sure if by allowing myself to get pregnant is a good idea. could it hurt an unborn baby, or will things more than likely be fine if the dr. knows i have this condition?

Answer:
u will be fine, i think the only harm to the baby itself w/ having herpes happens during the actual birth. but hey thats what c sections are for if u need it.
the baby doc should tell u all this info> and check u for active herpes during delivery but u still have a chance of delivering normal even though u have herpes.

but yup inform the doctors, and if they are being bitches> find a new one

Answer:
I am sorry if this is coming to you too late, I just found this site. Anyway, if you want to have a baby, then do it. I have had GH for 6 1/2 years, and I have two kids. One is 2 the other just turned 1. I had natural births, since I didn't have an outbreak. Just make sure to inform your ob/gyn that you have gh on your first visit. There is only a chance of infecting them if you have an outbreak. Some doctors will prescribe a daily pill, like Valtrex to help you avoid outbreaks. Mine just gave me some in case I got an outbreak. They checked when I went into labor and of course asked me if I had any symptoms. If you do have any symptoms then they do a c-section. Which isn't that bad if you really want a baby. May I also suggest trying to find a different Doctor, someone who will talk to you about whatever you need to talk about.

Good luck.

Answer:
I was recently diagnosed, and that was the first question that I asked my doctor because my husband and I have been trying to conceive (unsuccessfully) for 7 months. I asked if I was still able to have a baby, she said DEFINITELY. Then I asked if it would be harder for me to get pregnant with HSV2 and she said no. SOOO....to answer your question....as far as I know, you will be fine. You just need to find out whether or not your partner is infected.

Also, I think that you DEFINITELY need to find another doctor. Your doctor is someone who is supposed to inform you on your medical issues....not deny you knowledge.
