Is Imulux a permanent cure for herpes?

Question:
While trying to educate myself on HSV-1, I came across this recent news article. The article is about a challenge from Institute of Progressive Medicine to the scientific community. The IPM has offered a $1,000,000.00 reward to anyone who can prove Imulux does not permanently "heal" (cure?) herpes of either type. Their faq states, "Since the test is for antibodies you will test positive even though you are not contagious." If you go to their website, they claim their product "kills all genital/oral herpes strains." The treatment is a one time cost of $235.78, and they even offer a money back guarantee.

I'm rather new to studying the herpes virus, so I thought I'd post this and read what other people thought. Is Imulux a cure or con?

Edit: I don't work for the company, I just stumbled across the article on Google News by pure chance.

Hi Semnae,

I think these several links below will help you a little bit:

I am actually thinking of giving it a try, but it works only when you have visible symptoms. Sounds like I need to wait for an outbreak, not like I am complaining that I have to wait for it.

Answer:
No. No. And No.

It is a complete scam.

They can offer a billion dollars to anybody who can prove their product does NOT cure HSV simply because it is not possible to prove ANY negative.

You can not scientifically prove that dinosaurs do not exist, however well believed it is (and for the record, I believe it). Formally, it is only a theory--not a provable, establishable fact. You can only prove that they did exist. It's an old trick. They are playing with you. They want your money. They know people with HSV can feel desperate. They're thieves. Period.

2nd, LOTS of things kill HSV, so you should never get excited about hearing that sentence. That's not the point. The point is whether you can kill it while it is in your cells and not also destroy you at the same time. Hell, we can all kill cancer---just incinerate the person! POOF---the cells are dead! That's not the point. The point is to kill the cancer WITHOUT killing you.

No one knows how to do this with ANY virus. No lab, no doctors, no researchers, no preachers, no pharmaceutical companies, nobody. This is an old, old and well established scientific quandry.

They are playing with you. They want your money. They know you may feel desparate. They're thieves. Period.

Answer:
I understand the questioning attitude of tohealth with regards to the Imulux protocol for suppression of herpes simplex virus (HSV) skin lesions. I have an interest in the protocol since it lends support to research defining an alternative cellular energy (ACE) pathway that provides an auxiliary (non-immunological) defense mechanism against infectious diseases. The ACE pathway is particularly important in the defense against viruses that are not effectively recognized by the cellular immune system (stealth-adapted viruses).
Dr. Stoneburner initiated the challenge to the research community to prove him wrong. This was in response to the disinterest being shown by medical professionals and regulatory agencies to the published report of expedited healing of HSV lesions using the protocol. The alternatives include i) negotiating with entrepreneurs willing to invest money to be in a position of forever gauging HSV infected patients; ii) proceeding with the slow process of dealing with FDA regulators who have finally approved a limited clinical study using the protocol. I supported the challenge as a means of educating other researchers on the many potential applications of the ACE pathway.
A set of conditions have been established to ensure that the challenge is open to legitimate researchers who will conform to FDA requirements for clinical trials. I feel quite confident the observation of expedited healing of HSV lesions will be confirmed. The additional positive clinical data will also help with ongoing interactions with the FDA.
Along with its interests in conventional and stealth-adapted herpes viruses, the Institute of Progressive Medicine is supportive of studies using a simple, inexpensive method to allow anyone to screen for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteria. I would be interested in hearing of any HSV skin lesions becoming secondarily infected with MRSA.
If there is sufficient interest, time can be set aside for a teleconference call to discuss the Imulux protocol and the nature of the ACE pathway. Inquiries should be sent to s3support@mail.com Kind regards, W. John Martin, M.D., Ph.D., Institute of Progressive Medicine

The reality is this: The referenced Imulux site is intentionally misleading and a pure marketing scam.

One knows full well that a person of ordinary intelligence, uneducated in virology, who reads on this site any of the below, will be impressed to believe that Imulux is a cure for HSV:
  • *?Imulux provides a ?complete healing of genital and oral herpes virus infections?;
    *"Treat Once For Life Today?.
*A chart comparing a ?one time cost? using Imulux of $235.78, as compared to antivirals Zovirax, Valtrex and Famvir?s ?ongoing cost? ranging between $2,252.16 and $2,795.52, and any antiviral ?Only Aids to reduce outbreaks?.
*A chart that attempts to give credibility to Imulux by comparing it to legitimate antivirals and insinuating that it is a comparable product in efficacy
    .
Readers are intentionally mislead to think that Imulux is a cure for HSV. It is not. Whatever it does, it does not remove the virus from the body. Period. And overwhelmingly, this is what people are interested in. I recall a whopping 3 posts in this entire site by people who were majorly interested in ?cosmetic? HSV treatments. THREE.

And hold on to your wig, but so ambitious is the Imulux site that it couldn?t resist trying to peddle an insinuated cure for other STDs??Genital Warts Full Solution?; ?Oral Herpes Full Solution?. Hell, they?ve got a shopping cart!

Furthermore, the site effectively admits that it is a scam because they hired a lawyer to write so exculpatory a disclaimer http://www.imulux.com/consent.html which says in part:
  • *?IMULUX Ltd. does not make any medical claims regarding the IMULUX device.

*?No party involved in the manufacture or sale of the IMULUX device is licensed to practice medicine.

*?IMULUX Ltd. MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, AS TO THE SUITABILITY, PRODUCTIVITY, DURABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, MERCHANTABILITY, CONDITION, OR ANY OTHER MATTER WITH RESPECT TO IMULUX PRODUCTS.

*?We make no representations or warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy or completeness of the information provided on this website and disclaim any liability for the use of this site or any site linked to it.

*?IMULUX Ltd. may change this site at any time without notice but does not assume any responsibility to update it.
A neon red flag that the site doesn't want to be held accountable for anything at anytime under any circumstances, because they don?t even believe themselves.

People come to a forum like this generally for 1 of 3 reasons:
1. They have HSV;
2. They want to sell something to somebody who has HSV;
3. They don?t have HSV but may feel socially at risk for contracting it or otherwise have been personally confronted with it.

The readers may freely speculate which category any particular poster is in.

Having an M.D. and/or Ph.D. or J.D. or any other D after a name does not mean a person is ethical (see the recent M.D. who certified?without seeing a single clinical trial, knowing a product?s ingredients or trying the product even once--that the fake product ?Moisturol?, whose ingredients are Nestle Quik would change and do wonders for your skin. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14856571/ ). Sadly, this site overfloweth with testimonials to the contrary?doctors who intentionally infect their partner with HSV; doctors who won?t even order a test for one with HSV symptoms who requests it; doctors who don?t inform patients of the contagiousness of HSV or how to conduct themselves sexually; doctors who don?t KNOW of the contagiousness of HSV or how one should conduct themselves sexually; doctors who judge their patients? character given an HSV diagnosis. Nor does an M.D. and/or Ph.D. mean the person is primarily concerned with health vs. say, money.

Answer:
Open Letter to all past, current and future users of the Imulux protocol.

My name is Dr. Jon Stoneburner, President and owner of Imulux Ltd.. I was appointed to the position of Professor of Energy Medicine at the Institute of Progressive Medicine in 2005 by its founder Dr. John Martin and have co authored published clinical trials that appear in Principals of Molecular Pathology. I have been appointed the position of ?clinical investigator? buy the IRB (Institutional Review Board) under an IND (Investigational New Drug) permit granted by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in April of 2006.

There has been a lot of talk in the herpes community regarding Imulux. I would like to clarify our claims and position on the Imulux protocol so that there is no misunderstanding.

IMULUX CLAIM
No one on the face of the planet can claim to have a "cure" for herpes but we at Imulux feel that we might have the closest thing to it.

- We claim that the Imulux protocol kills viruses allowing the body to form antibodies. Your immune system is what protects you from that point forward.

- We claim according to clinical trials that patients consistently report immediate relief of symptoms associated with their outbreak and expedited healing of their lesion following application of the Imulux protocol.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Science will agree with the following facts:

? ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT IS ?HAZARADIOUS TO THE HEALTH OF VIRUSES?, they do not survive well in its presence.
? IF MEDICINE INJECTS DEAD VIRUSES INTO THE BODY THE BODY WILL FORM ANTIBODIES. (EXAMPLE; A FLU SHOT)

Scientists at Imulux have found a solution that allows ultraviolet light to pass through the skin unaltered in wavelength or intensity. We call this solution a ?photon lending substance?. The substance involved is not a drug, medication, or strong chemical with hazardous side effects. In fact it is classified by the FDA as a class one Medical Device. This substance is readily absorbed by the virus and when exposed to ultraviolet light causes damage to the virus killing it. The light alone would damage the virus but the photon lending substance allows the light to enter the virus directly killing it. This is simply a form of energy medicine, no different than cold packs placed on an injured ankle. The cold helps the pain and swelling. (?Energy medicine?)

Published clinical trials have proven the following; (http://www.imulux.com/news.html)
? Patients consistently report immediate relief of outbreak symptoms following the Imulux protocol
? Doctors and clinicians report expedited healing readily observable at 24 hour follow up of the Imulux protocol
Interviews with clinical investigators that have done 3 year follow up surveys showed the following facts:
? 93% of patients contacted showed continued permanent remission (outbreak free) at three years following the Imulux protocol with one treatment.
? with two treatments the percentage jumps to over 96%
? 5 patients required 3 treatments for permanent remission
? Only three patients required more than 3 treatments for permanent remission
? Only one patient reported a total of 7 treatments for permanent remission
The following should be clearly noted here:

1) That many of the multiple treatment patients had more than one partner during this three year period and some admitted having multiple relationships prior to the administration of the Imulux protocol; thus it is possible for some individuals to harbor more than one strain of the herpes virus.
2) The Imulux protocol treats the current strain involved in the current outbreak only. After the Imulux protocol the individual will produce antibodies to the strain that is active in the current outbreak. These antibodies will not protect you from another strain. One successful treatment does not make it impossible for an individual to be re-infected with another strain of the herpes virus.

Most Common Reasons Why Imulux May Appear Not To Work for Some Patients:

1) Treating outside the window of an active outbreak (typically a four day window is all you have): An ACTIVE outbreak must be present for application to occur. It is imperative that the active outbreak is there. If you do not have an active outbreak when treating yourself, it may not work. DO NOT TREAT what may NOT be an outbreak, or DO NOT TREAT a premature outbreak, or DO NOT TREAT a post outbreak, BUT RATHER TREAT a real ACTIVE outbreak that is present.
2) Infected with Multiple Strains: If you have multiple strains, YOU WILL HAVE another outbreak. It is imperative that you treat the second outbreak with the appropriate Medpak. There are 8 different major categories of the herpes virus, and there are multiple sub-strains in each category, thus it is possible that you could have dozens of different strains in your body. Therefore it is possible that you may need to treat yourself multiple times. However, according to studies 93% of the people only have one strain, an additional 6% of the people have 2 strains, and less than 1% have more than 2 strains. YOU MUST TREAT EACH STRAIN SEPERATLEY WITH EACH OUTBREAK.
3) Multiple Partners: If you have multiple partners, YOU MAY CATCH another strain, and therefore you MUST treat the new strain separately. After the use of the IMULUX treatment on a particular strain, you are still susceptible to re-infection with a new strain.
4) Improper Application: You MUST apply the protocol correctly. And must see all the complete stages occur (i.e. ?The florescence?). Without the florescence the virus is not present, and therefore too late or too early for the application of the protocol to be successful.

The Imulux Wellness Program allows you to receive FREE OF CHARGE additional Medpaks due to the above treatment failures.

Answer:
My name is Dr. Jon Stoneburner, President and owner of Imulux Ltd.. I was appointed to the position of Professor of Energy Medicine at the Institute of Progressive Medicine? . My name is tohealth. I was appointed Bullsh!t Annihilator by nobody in particular. And I suppose you were appointed at the Institute of Progressive Medicine as opposed to the Institute of Non-progressive and backwardashell medicine?
I have been appointed the position of ?clinical investigator? buy the IRB (Institutional Review Board) ?.. "buy" the IRB. Freudian slip, yes?
I would like to clarify our claims and position on the Imulux protocol so that there is no misunderstanding. No one on the face of the planet can claim to have a "cure" for herpes. And surely you will put this front and center on at least the homepage and check out page of your website immediately.
We claim that the Imulux protocol kills viruses allowing the body to form antibodies. I think the HSV infected here pretty much already have antibodies. But thanks.
We claim ?that patients consistently report immediate relief of symptoms associated with their outbreak and expedited healing of their lesion? I think this is medically uninteresting and irrelevant. There are already products on the market that do this, and moreover, they have been subjected to more scientific scrutiny and clinical trials than a single product you advertise. More still, their manufacturers don?t attach a disclaimer even remotely akin to yours, they are regulated by federal agencies and they have spent a few billion more dollars in coming to market than your firm has.
Science will agree.ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT IS HAZARADIOUS TO THE HEALTH OF VIRUSES.. I would imagine so, since UV light is hazardous to the DNA of normal cells. Is the conclusion that we can somehow selectively absorb UV light into all HSV-infected cells in our carcasses but not uninfected ones? Forget Imulux--Where is your Nobel Prize?
IF MEDICINE INJECTS DEAD VIRUSES INTO THE BODY THE BODY WILL FORM ANTIBODIES. If medicine injects live viruses into the body, the body will form antibodies. And?

The issue is what your product does by virtue of clinical trials and research comparable to that of a regulated publicly traded pharmaceutical firm with something akin to an independent board of directors and a public exchange rating out in the sunshine and a laboratory facility with an address that inspectors and customers can identify, that is superior---in efficacy and cost---to what current, and yes, FDA approved products can do. The answer is, absolutely nothing.
