i am having an outbreak again! this can't be! I got genital herpes 3 months ago and since then have had 3 outbreaks but this one is just terrible. When I got my first outbreak I thought that it canot be worse...ha what a mistake. I somehow spread it to my chest and now having it all over my body. My doc said it is impossible to get genital herpes anywhere else than your genital area. (this is actualy what 3 different doctors I went to also said). The outbreak on my chest is even worse than the one on my genitals. It is so itchy that you canot imagine.Before I got this outbreak my doc put me on suppresive therapy but it seems it wasn't working well. Now I take aciclostad 400 3 x a day, virgin coconut oil, vitamins, drink green tea but no positive results. I am desperate, don't know what to do, the life sucks and I don't know if I ever will get better. Does somoene know if there is any other therapy which might work? I can't function like this, can't study or work, it is just driving me mad.

Actually I take 3 table spoons virgin coconut oil every day. Since I started taking it the outbreak got worse. I thought it was supposed to fight off the virus. Does anyone know? Or is it just herx (Herxheimer reaction)?

aciclostad? humm i tried to google that but it came back in a diff lang.- so is that the only rx u were on, or are on?
u should try some lysine.
and if the coconut oil is making it worse>>>> dont take it any more.
how long do u take these other things? like religiously every day? only during a ob?

Well aciclostad is aciclovir produced under different brand so people who can't afford aciclovir can buy aciclostad or aciclobene. I live in Austria so I guess these products are produced here. I am insured and paid for 1 package 14 Euro. I have no idea how much costs aciclovir because when I got my first outbreak my doc gave me 1 package aciclovir for free and later on when I got another one he gave me one more. After taking it everything cleared up down there. The only problem after this were 5 little pimpels on my chest. I thought it was allergy or something like that so I went to see a dermatologist who also thought it was an allergy and prescribed me some cream for eczema and also aciclostad for herpes because I wanted to go on a suppresive therapy. Those little pimpels on my chest weren't really going away so I kept coming back and he tested me for allergies. The next day my chest was covered with blisters and just then I realized that it probably also is herpes. I think it is herpes zoster/shingles (reactivation of chickenpox) because it is spreading exactly the same way (along my breasts) as herpes zoster does . My genital area seems to be quite ok right now, it's only a bit red and sometimes itchy but generally ok. One day it looks like it is turning into blisters and the other one as if I had nothing. This is driving me mad because I don't know what's happening inside my body. My mum had shingles on September last year and she got better beginning of October but at that time I wasn't living at home. When I came back for Christmas, only 2 days after my arrival, I got these little pimpels on my chest. I didn't really bother about them until now because they are so itchy and they are spreading really fast :( . I haven't tried lysine yet but maybe I should. I decided to keep taking virgin coconut oil even though I got fever and blisters the next day . I red somewhere that you can feel feverish when taking it because it just gets rid of all the bad stuff. Maybe my immune system was already so down that it couldn't handle more work and everything got worse. I just don't know but I definitely want keep taking it and see if it helps in a long term. Strange is that I don't get flu or get really really sick but have problems with herpes. So did I get shingles from my mum or is my immune system so low that it can't handle infections like herpes? I guess i won't know but I think that something must be wrong with my body because this is just too much. Ah yeh and I take vitamins on a daily basis, not only when I get outbreaks. I try to eat healthy but have lot of stress. Would say that stress is the main trigger of my outbreaks.

My doc said it is impossible to get genital herpes anywhere else than your genital area. (this is actualy what 3 different doctors I went to also said). I think your doctors are wrong. All three of them. How do they explain herpes whitlow or ocular herpes? These can be, for example, HSV1 or HSV2 relocated to the finger and eye, even if they were not initially contracted there. Are they saying that HSV2 (“genital herpes”) can never be in the eye? That’s already established in medicine. And if it can be in the eye, and for example, spontaneously occur as an outbreak in the brain (herpes encephalitis) even if it was originally contracted through the genitals, why can’t it be on your chest? Your chest has no fewer nerves than your BRAIN for that virus to migrate to and it’s actually closer to your genitals than your brain is (probability of recurrence in an area away from the genitals generally decreases with distance—i.e., you are more likely to have an outbreak on your buttocks than on your neck, though it’s not impossible to have one on your neck. And what would they say about wrestlers’ herpes (herpes gladiatorum) as frequently observed on the chest and face? Would they assert that it is only ever caused by some other special “non-genital” HSV strain, when we already see how HSV1 and HSV2 don’t even “stay put” in their preferred regions 100% of the time. I think your doctors are wrong, or I’m not understanding what they mean.

coconut is high in arganine, just what you do not want. you want more lysine than arganine. that could be triggering your ob's. you want to eat foods high in lysine and stay away from foods high in arganine. what is going on with your chest? i have an itchy rash all over my back legs and spread to my arms ever since i got my first ob end of April this yr. i think it has something to do with this herpes, but everyone i talk to says, "no, you can't spread this to other parts of your body. So i don't know what it is, but it's spreading every day.
