paranoia.
Question: So after I found out I was HSV-2 positive, I have become very paranoid. I read somewhere that you can get outbreaks around your eyes and mouth and other parts of your body if you spread the virus. Well I think I've taken this information a little too far. Is it even true? I've become this obsessive hand washing person, I am terrified to touch myself, and I have this whole routine I do now when I shower on what parts of the towel I can dry myself off with and what parts of my towel can only touch me down there. How easy is it to transfer it to other parts of the body? I haven't even had an outbreak so if I ever get one I have no idea what i'll do! Answer: I think that this would be more of an issue for those who have herpes but don't know it. I'm surprised I didn't transfer the infection to my eyes or whatever years ago, because my first outbreak was on my leg and I had no idea what it was...I was scratching the stuff with my bare hands. After it recurred a few times, I knew something was up. The key is to not touch your sores and if you do, wash your hands thoroughly. You'll be o.k....I know, it's scary at first.
