Can you give..
Question: Herpes "to yourself"?? I know it's a weird question, but bare with me. i have HSV-1,and have had cold sores off and on for years. I have never been diagnosed with HSV-2, nor had any reason to think I might have it. I have been with the same woman for over 4 years, and know that she has neither.. Now, if someone has a cold sore, can they touch it in some way, and then...um...shall we say, have self love, and pass it on to their genitals!? Just had a cold sore for a couple of weeks, and then had a 'raw like speck' on my penis which didn't feel or really look like any outbreak, and most likely is from, shall we say, being a little "rough" with myself.. In any event, it got me thinking... Is transmission possible "to yourself"?? Answer: yup, completly possible. be carefull Answer: yup, completly possible. be carefull How likely? Also in regards to washing your hands, um, before.. Answer: its pretty common to transfer it to other areas of your body especially if your having a outbreak. though it is harder since you are making antibodies for the specific type ---by the way genital isnt just type2- since you have oral(u said type1) you can give your self genital type1--- it is possible i dont know statistics though. if you touch a cold sore, wash your hands, and then touch your self... even harder. Actually just re-read that response. Per research, it isn't very likely at all apparently to spread it to other parts of the body during an outbreak. Do you mean specifically to a place like the genitals from the mouth?? (Just wanna clarify, as another poster here didn't know the realities of spreading from genital to oral..) Answer: no it IS very likely that you can spread it to other places of your body DURING a outbreak- its not very likly to do that when you dont have the outbreak. and yes if you touch a cold sore, then touch your member, you can get herpes on your member. ""Genital herpes is spread easily. The virus from contact with an infected person can enter your body through a break in your skin or through the skin of your mouth, penis or vagina, urinary tract opening, cervix or anus. Herpes is most easily spread when blisters or sores can be seen on the infected person. But it can be spread at any time, even when there aren't any symptoms. Genital herpes is usually spread from one person to another by having sex, including oral sex. Herpes can also be spread from one place on your body to another, such as from your genitals to your fingers, then to your eyes or to other parts of your body. Herpes can also be spread from a mother to her baby when she gives birth."" Obviously, the far more common occurance, is transmission from genital to genital, or mouth to genital. I do realize that spreading to other parts of the body is indeed possible, but however, from my research, it is highley "unlikely". Makes sense, or a whole lot more people would have herpes on far more places on their bodies than just genital/mouth.. I understand these occurances are out there, but it seems they are very small in number compared to cold sores and/or genital herpes.. Answer: So say......a s/o has cold sores...but not genital. If that person has oral sex that person can spread his/her "cold sores" to your genital area, even though they don't have genital herpes themselves.? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
