do i or dont i

Question:
i was recently infected with gh (1 month ago),and my husband and i would like to try for a third child. Both my boys were deliverd c-cection so the next baby would need to be deliverd the same way.is there no chance of passing it on to baby if a c-section is done? also since i am newly infected do i have to wait any amount of time befor i can concieve or am i o.k to go ahead and try?
thanx for your time

Answer:
I would wait a bit. The primary infection is usually the most severe one, and I've read it can actually end up with virus in the bloodstream (which doesn't happen for reoccurances). So waiting a month or two couldn't hurt. Of course, I'm not your ob/gyn, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Speaking of ob/gyn it is critical to tell them you have gh, so that they know what to monitor for.

Thanx,Hopingseeking what about passing it on with a c-section,what are the chances.I cant get any answers from my Doc,he does not seem to Know much on H.The info he has given turned out to be false.I would switch Doc's,but I live in a small town with limited choice

Answer:
I think it would be in an extremely rare and strange case where a baby contracted hsv via a csection. Rule of thumb is : baby and virus should not meet. Having a vaginal birth can up the chances of baby contracting it, although, many many babies are born vaginally to hsv2 mothers with no problems. So it is up to you and your physician, but do what is best for YOU. DO not let others sway your decision. If you want a csection and feel that will give you peace of mind, then do it.

I would have had a csection, herpes or not herpes, due to some problems I had with delivering my oldest child. Herpes was merely cemented the deal for me.

And hopingseeking is right...WAIT a while before getting pregnant, because the initial infection is the worst and it CAN be in your bloodstream and maybe even affect your baby. Wait it out, and then maybe start working on getting pregnant. Until then, do alot of "practicing" making babies. ahem....he he he!

The chances of passing herpes onto your baby during the c-section process is very very very low (I'm going to go out on a limb and say zero chance), because technically, at no point will the baby even touch your genital skin. I've watched c-sections performed before, and with all the draping of the area, there is no chance, if the c-section is done according to procedure. Good luck to you and your husband!
