lysine

Question:
Has anybody added Lysine vitamins to their daily intake and noticed any changes?? Is it worth anything by itself, or does it have to be in conjunction with V-C and other vitamins?

I added lysine and other vitamins as soon as I deduced that immune function plays a role in the frequency of ob's.

That said immune function is influenced by many factors including sleep, exercise, emotions, diet, heredity etc.

My personal experience with controlling ob's has been limited by my personal knowledge of how long I've actually had herpes. Since I didn't know for sure until this past January I can only relate what I've observed since then. I had one ob 2 years ago before I knew what it was.

I am absolutely positive (personal experience) that emotional health effects immune function. Negative thoughts are very destructive. The only times I had ob's they were directly related to emotional stress.

Since our bodies utilize certain vitamins for certain biological functions it stands to reason that taking them in conservative doses should be a good thing. I have just recently gotten a major ob under control and I credit the combined force of antivirals, sleep, exercise, healthy diet and vitamins with the improvement. I see an improvement in my mental health too. I am just getting back to the gym and the exercise has a two-fold positive effect of relieving stress and making me look better. I like it.

i started talking Lysine in November of last yr.. i havn`t had an outbreak since.. i am also talking brewers yeast.

since taking lysine, i also eat foods that have more lysine in it.. i find that it is helping me.. i am also doing alot of research on ionzed water.. and keeping the body alkaline...

since we are discussing what might help with symptoms I have some interesting things that I think are helping me.

One is to take my Claritin (loratidine - generic) every day- it seems to keep the itch away and the other is Probiotics. I discovered during the beginning of my first real ob in January that on the days I didn't take the claritin things were worse.

I've now gone about 3 weeks feeling absolutely marvelous. Best I've felt in years.
