can't figure out where I got this!!
Question: I was recently diagnosed with HPV, and about a week later went back to the doctor for what I thought was a reaction to Aldara. Turns out it was a new outbreak of genital herpes. I have been married for 16 years and KNOW I haven't been with anyone else, and I also totally trust my partner. We both had blood tests and it showed that he isn't even infected with herpes(type 2), only type one. I showed a new infection of type two and an old infection of type one. Thank goodness we have a strong marriage and no fears of infedelity, but I am still very worried about the possible health of my immune system. I'm not sure if this is important-but at the time of the initial infection my husband had a raging testicular infection and I had a major case of gallstones(so we hadn't even had sex in about three weeks). I appreciate any and all help here! Answer: Where it came from really is irrelevant. :? I know it doesn't seem like it. I worried about it for years. I worried so much that my stress level increased and I had more out breaks because of it. Since you have a strong relationship, the best thing you can do is relax and look to the future. The more you relax, the fewer and less severe your out breaks will be. :) So far I haven't seen a noticeable difference in my immune system. I have had herpes II for 9 years now. I have focused more and more on my health. I take vitamin and mineral supplements. I drink lots of water. I wash well.  In fact one of the best things we did was get a shower head that could be hand held. This makes washing much easier and more thorough. It also prevents transmission via wash cloth since I use my hands to wash. I soap them up then was and rinse. This makes it so that the virus will never be on the wash cloth. :!: I hope this helps you a little. --Mary Ash Answer: Yup. Totally agree with MaryAsh. Soap kills this virus. A good precaution is to soak your clothing in soap water after use. Don't wear clothing twice without washing. As an added precaution, I always add one cap of antiseptic solution to the soap water used to soap my clothes. And wash my clothes separately from the rest of the household. Also, don't share eating or drinking utensils. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
