but if you kiss the baby to death yes you might infect them.

I haven't heard that having oral hsv is a risk in giving birth.

However once the baby is born you will need to be careful about kissing him or her if you have herpes blisters or sores and keep baby from sticking fingers in your mouth and when they are a little bigger not sharing cups and utensils.

If you even suspect a genital infection you should consult your obgyn about getting tested. If you find that you are positive for genital herpes you may want to consider suppressive therapy and requesting to give birth by cesarian section.

It is certainly a good time to concentrate on your health and to build your immune system. Hormone fluctuations during pregnancy can cause ob's for some women.

Hi friends, I was diagnosed with herpes about 9 years ago. I haven't had an outbreak for about 2 or 3 years. I am 5 weeks pregnant and think I am at the early stages of getting an outbreak. Has anyone ever been in this position?

i have not, but its ok- having a ob during pregnacy is ok, your body is very stressed out right now and is most likly the reason for the ob.

all you need to watch out for is a ob around delivery, and if you are having one, a c-section will take all the worries away
