I want to know if two people have genital HSV2, can they reinfect each other in the genitals?

Answer:
yes, they can spread new outbreaks back and forth, that is why most doctors recommend to wear a condom every time regardless if the partner has herpes too.....my doctor told me this, so did another nurse practitioner at a different office, as well as my boyfriends doctor so i am going to go ahead and say it is possible. Also because I had sex with my boyfriend a few times when I thought I could spread the virus( boyfriend didnt care) and he didnt get anything VISIBLE on his skin following the sex at any time within the next week or two or anything, however that doesnt mean the virus was not present on his skin afterwards, without symptoms. Keep in mind he is someone who never gets visible outbreaks and has only had 2 dots on two separate occasions in all the time he has had this (few years) However, I also had sex with him last week when i knew I had some itching and told him we shouldnt but he said he didnt care (that was friday night) and on sunday he looked at me and said "you were right, this sucks" and now has some redness and patchy skin (more similar to my outbreak symptoms...nothing he's ever had yet) so it is always suggested to use condoms even with a partner that has it because if you think about it.. if one of the partners happens to be contagios with or without symptoms, then it is open, active virus being transferred to another persons skin and some people want to think it doesnt matter because you have antibodies but those antibodies are not even powerful enough to prevent self recurrences, do you really think they are powerful enough to prevent you from getting additional outbreaks when exposed the active outbreaks on someone else? I feel some of the time you may be lucky and at least the partner will not show visible symptoms if they get a new outbreak as a result of sex when there partner was contagious, but a lot of the time it happens and couples can have more outbreaks than they normally would as a result of it spreading back and forth so to speak.
