Does my 1 year old have oral herpes?

Question:
Okay I just found out I had oral herpes in Oct. 06. My baby was born in April 06 so after I found out I had it I stop kissing her. So last week I realized my mother had a coldsore and she been kissing my baby on her lips for over a year. I'm thinking when I was young my mom might have gave it to me so I also have been kissing her for like 6 months. I don't think I ever seen her with a coldsore or anything but what are the chances that she have it?

Answer:
theres a pretty big chance if your mom has been kissing her w/ active cold sores.

Answer:
How come people don't talk about the 'dangers' of kissing babies? Not that I think kissing someone else's baby is ok in anycase - why would anyone want to? Anyway, 80-90 per cent of the population have oral herpes (or so I've read), herpes in babies can be very harmful, and yet I've never heard stories of people having to tell other people not to kiss their babies!!!

If I had a baby, or a child or ANY age, I'd be PARANOID about people kissing them!!

Yes, they'll kiss their boyfriend/girlfriend when they're older, but then this will be their CHOICE. So much about this virus, is JUST NOT TALKED ABOUT.

Answer:
Did you tell your mom stop kissing the baby?
