I can only estimate mine because the dr's couldn't diagnose me for many years plus I've only been diagnosed through a swab and culture and I'm not sure if a blood test would give a different result.

We need a poll to see how many people were infected by someone who knew and simply didn't disclose.

gutted, not all of us in the 20-24 year old range were as you put it "a little too promiscuous" I for one got this when I was 22 while in a monogamous relationship for 3 years at the time when me and my partner both had symptoms totally out of the blue.....have no clue where it came from. Before that I was in another monogamous relationship from age 17-20. I have only had those 2 boyfriends in my whole life (im 24 now)....both for durations of 3 or more years and I end up with this crap because my boyfriend had no idea he was a carrier and never had a symptom ever. Nothing to do with EVER being promiscuous in the least.

hey gutted, no hard feelings :) I figured you were just generalizing and being witty but it still sucks in a lot of ways because even you are basically saying the stigma is the truth about the type of people who get herpes ya know? Most people on here did not ever sleep around and they got it regardless so it just kind of stinks to still be in the mind set of that. I know some people did sleep around and happened to get it, but it seems like the majority on here Ive ever talked to just got unlucky and were not promiscuous at all. Granted being promiscuous does in fact increase the odds of you contracting all sorts of things, but tons of people on this site didnt behave in that way and acquired it by unfortunate chance. I also noticed a lot of people on this site seem to be on this site because they did not behave in such a way and have such a hard time even grasping that they ended up with this disease anyway. Its definitely a mind f*ck when it totally appears out of nowhere without any explananation or possibilities........definitely hard to accept and understand why/how it happened especially when in monogamous relationships or for the people who have only had 1 or 2 partners ever. Its hard regardless of how or why anyone ended it up with it all the same.
