could go into labor anytime and having an outbreak

Question:
i am really worried right now. i am just a few days shy of 36 weeks and am showing signs of going into labor any time now. i have been taking my valtrex throughout my pregnancy and yesterday i noticed an outbreak starting on my thigh (it is the first outbreak in over a year). my thigh is the only spot any outbreaks have ever been noticed, but i doubt that matters when it comes to giving birth. my dr. and i have been planning on having a natural birth like i did with my other children (that was before we found out i had H). does this mean that i'm going to have to have a c-section?

Answer:
This doesn't mean that you have to have a cesarean section but you should make sure to let your dr know that you're having an ob.

The bigger risk I'd think is that this isn't your first baby and your labor could progress quicker than previously and you could end up delivering before getting to the hospital with the status of the hsv unknown.

If you are close to a hospital and your labor is not too quick you should be able to arrive in time for a quick look see so the dr's can determine if a c-section is necessary.
