Question:
My Doc wants me to take Valtrex 500 mg once a day from 36 weeks until I deliver (via C-sec.) He's being cautious b/c he says if my water breaks before then my baby will still be protected by the Valtrex.

Most of the studies I've seen were done with Valtrex 500 mg twice a day, but he says once a day should suffice. So to all the ladies that took Valtrex during the last few weeks of pregnancy, What dose did you take and were you outbreak free at delivery time????

Hey I have taken valtex my whole pregnancy once a day. Also I just took it twice a day for 3 days last week instructed by my doctor. Now I'm back to one a day, and will continue while breastfeeding as well. Hope that helps :)
